Dippers are members of the genus Cinclus in the bird family Cinclidae,
Dippers are short-tailed, stout birds with a low, whirring flight. When perched on a rock, they bob up and down and often sticks their tails up. The white throat and breast contrasts with the dark body plumage. Making photography sometimes a little challenging. Dippers are daring hunters, walking into and under water in search of food. They are unique among passerines for their ability to dive and swim underwater.
