In April 2026 we were invited by our good friends Peter and Sam Cargill to use their lovely town house in Lagos for a holiday.
Peter and Sam are long standing family friends who moved permanently to the Algarve a couple of years ago. Peter was a colleague of mine in my early days in the Poultry Industry. It was great to catch up and also meet their new circle of friends.
Lagos is a lovely town towards the western side of the Algarve and as we had usually stayed in the East it was a lovely change for us, particularly so as the house itself was superb and we wanted for nothing.
The pattern of the holiday was for me early morning trips out in the hire car to enjoy and indulge my photography passion, coming back mid to late morning and then spending the rest of the day doing more touristy activities.
Having visited the Algarve a few times previously, I have built up a knowledge of the places to go for wildlife and spent many lovely mornings out and about. All of the wildlife images apart from Vilamoura and Quinta do Largo were taken from the car which served its purpose beautifully.
