I subscribe to a YouTube channel hosted by Mike Lane who I admire greatly.
He visited El Taray and following his video blog recounting his experience I decided to give it a go. I flew to Madrid and hired a car and drove to Villacanas my base for the stay. El Taray is about 8 kms from the town and is on a private working estate which produces olives and grapes.
My main guide at El Taray was young man called Bruno, he simply could not do enough to ensure I (I was by myself most of the time) got the best images possible. He spoke excellent english and I am idebted to him. Sadly I have come to understand he is no longer there and the place is poorer for his absence.
In hindsight I think I was there a bit to early in the year (unavoidable) as summer visitors had not yet arrived, but a very productive trip nonetheless and one I certainly hope to repeat in future years.
